    Yurie Toyama is a researcher in the Smart Region Division at Mitsubishi Research Institute. She currently involves in several projects related with automated driving and smart mobility from various aspects, such as technical, business developing, and policy making.
    Throughout her time at MRI, she has provided technical and project management support to Japanese industries and governments.
    She is interested in the coordination of new technology for mobility, such as automated driving, with urban transportation planning.
    She holds a M.Eng in transport planning and a B.Eng in civil engineering.

    I graduated from University of Tsukuba in 1996. I worked as an engineer at construction consulting company. I was in charge of improving the disaster prevention capacity of the region and regional development using the Michi-no-eki.
    I joined HIDO in 2019. I am a project leader promoting the spread and development of social services using ITS. I am working on the future relationship between cities and roads for the introduction of new mobility. In particular, I am conducting research on the technology and service content necessary for introducing autonomous driving services as one of public transportation in the region, sustainable operation and development, necessary system design, etc.

    Sven Jansen has been working for more than 30 years in the field of Automotive with TNO. His studied vehicle technology under supervision of Professor Pacejka at the Delft University of Technology, and has been involved the development of active vehicle control systems, cooperative driving and automated driving. The current focus of his work concerns collaborations related to CCAM and European projects, and he participates on behalf TNO within the European CCAM partnership which was established in 2021.

    Timothy Haile

    Timothy Haile serves as the Executive Director for Contra Costa Transportation Authority. Tim is responsible for the overall management of the Authority, including implementation of projects and programs identified in CCTA’s voter-approved sales tax Measure C and Measure J, the Growth Management Program, the Congestion Management Program, as well as policies and procedures, the board-approved budget, and all administrative functions. He strives to advance emerging transportation solutions that are safe, equitable, sustainable, and accessible. Valued partnerships, early stakeholder engagement, and data sharing are essential components of Tim’s playbook toward successfully advancing public-private collaborations. He has successfully leveraged limited local funding and private investments to expand opportunities to test and deploy innovative solutions to transportation challenges. Tim previously served as CCTA’s Deputy Executive Director, Projects and has more than 20 years of experience in program management, public works, and transportation projects. Tim is a registered Professional Engineer and earned his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, Pomona.
    He has been an active leader in the transportation industry and community, serving as a member of the Transportation Research Board Managed Lanes Committee and Board Member of the California Transportation Foundation. In 2021, Tim was nationally recognized by Government Technology for “Innovative Leadership”.

    Habib Shamskhou

    Habib Shamskhou is President of Advanced Mobility Group and co-founder of the GoMentum Station Program in Northern California.
    He brings nearly 31 years of experience managing a wide variety of transportation projects.
    Habib is a recognized authority on emerging advanced transportation and digital infrastructure technologies with expertise in technology facilitation, public-private partnerships, and program management of large-scale technology-based infrastructure projects.

    His latest collaborations include technology facilitation and program management for two of Contra Costa Transportation Authority’s federal grants from the Advanced Driving Systems and Advanced Transportation and Congestion Management Technologies Deployment (ATCMTD) programs. The ADS program is collecting and analyzing data to support federal policy and rulemaking around ADS safety measures. The ATCMTD grant is developing a Mobility as a Service application to provide travelers with multimodal complete trip planning service. Recent developments at GoMentum station include the Vehicle to Everything Signal Lab (V2X Signal Lab) and Dynamic Personal Micro Transit initiatives.

    Habib has been involved in the implementation of the I5/I90/SR520 Active Traffic Management System (ATMS) Design Build project in Seattle, developing Corridor System Management Plans (CSMPs) for Caltrans, and executing several ITS SMART corridor and system integration projects in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, as well as ITS projects in Florida, Arizona, Texas, Nevada, and Oregon.

    Matthew Daus

    Matthew W. Daus, Esq. currently serves as Transportation Technology Chair at the City University of New York’s (CUNY)
    Transportation Research Center of The City College of New York, where he conducts research, and continues to be extensively published as an expert on ground transportation regulation and technology. As a CUNY Distinguished Lecturer from 2010-2018, he taught courses on transportation history, policy, sustainability, for-hire regulation and technology. Mr. Daus also continues to serve, since 2009, as President of the International Association of Transportation Regulators (IATR), a non-profit educational peer group of government transportation regulators from around the world promoting best regulatory and innovative practices. Mr. Daus is the longest serving Commissioner/Chair/CEO of the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC), where he served from 2001-2010. Prior to his tenure as Commissioner, Mr. Daus served in many other executive and counsel positions in NYC government for almost 20 years, including: General Counsel to the TLC and the NYC Community Development Agency; Special Counsel to the TLC and NYC Trade Waste Commission; NYC Human Rights Prosecutor; and Commissioner of the NYC Civil Service Commission. Mr. Daus is a partner at Windels Marx Lane & Mittendorf, LLP, where he founded and chairs the Transportation Practice Group since 2010.
